“I love working here. I’m so impressed with the people here and the store.”
~Gold Mine Resale Shop Volunteer
Since opening the original store in 1981, Gold Mine Resale Shop dollars have helped support the many programs and services offered by the WRCNM. Thousands of individuals – women, children and families – have been served by these important programs.
That’s why your donations to both Gold Mine stores are so important. When our stores are filled, we provide a complete selection for thrifty shoppers and those who have found themselves in a difficult situation. And just as important, those shopping dollars stay right here in our community! Gold Mine proceeds help fund critical WRCNM programs on which our community has come to rely.

As though seen from the eye of one of nature's most essential insects, a macro exposure of California poppies, interspersed with lupine, offers up its bounty to the imagination's eye. Bumblebees and hummingbirds both play a crucial role in the reproductive order of the natural world. Drawn in by the flower's sweet nectar, the bumblebee's proboscis and antennae and the hummingbird's beak come into contact with the plant's stamen, picking up the pollen and depositing it on another plant. This miraculous act of floral reproduction reinforces the role of the things that often go unseen, as the pollinators dance their quiet dance with nature in full bloom.

Spring rains in the rolling grasslands of California bring out incredible displays of poppy and lupine. Most other species of poppy were introduced from the Old World and spread to the wild from gardens, but ironically the wild California poppy is often brought into gardens and cultivated for its brilliant blossoms.
