Privacy Policy

Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan, Inc. is committed to protecting the privacy and accuracy of confidential information to the best extent possible, subject to provisions of state and federal law.

How do we use the information you provide to us?

The information we collect generally falls into two categories: (1) information voluntarily supplied by visitors to our websites through optional registration; and (2) tracking information gathered as visitors navigate through our websites.

Our web servers automatically collect some information about you when you request pages from our web servers, including your IP address. Your IP address is a number used by computers connected to the Internet to identify your computer so that data (such as the webpages you request) can be sent to you. Your IP address does not identify you personally.

We may invoke a standard feature of browser software called a “cookie” to better meet the needs of our visitors and to better administer our websites. You can set your browser not to accept cookies, but if you do, you may not be able to take advantage of certain features enjoyed by other visitors to our website.

This web site may contain links to other web sites. Some of those web sites may be operated by third parties. We provide the links for your convenience, but we do not review, control or monitor the privacy practices of web sites operated by others.

We are not responsible for the performance of web sites operated by third parties or for your business dealings with them. Therefore, when you leave this web site we recommend that you review each web site’s privacy practices and make your own conclusions regarding the adequacy of these practices.

Email information

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.

Email that you may send to us may not be secure unless we advise you that security measures will be in place prior to your transmitting the information. For this reason, we ask that you do not send confidential information to us through an unsecured e-mail.

Do we disclose information to outside parties?

Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan does not sell or otherwise disclose user information outside the organization.

What about legally compelled disclosure of information?

We may disclose information when legally compelled to do so; that is, when we, in good faith, believe that the law requires it or for the protection of our legal rights.

This Privacy Policy was last revised on 03/16/2020. The web is an evolving medium. We may need to change our privacy policy from time to time. By continuing to use the services after we post such changes, you accept the terms of this policy, as modified.
