WRCNM CAC Holzschu 2023Sarah Holszchu
Forensic Coordinator

On January 3, 2023, Sarah Holzschu was hired as the CAC Forensic Interviewer and quickly embraced the work and took the initiative to grow the program. She was recently promoted to Forensic Coordinator.

Sarah will continue to provide forensic interviews with children who have experienced abuse, neglect, and violence. Her new role includes additional responsibilities of setting program goals and making recommendations on and reviewing CAC protocols, policies, procedures, and program operations. She will also monitor CAC data collection and provide public speaking about child abuse/neglect and prevention, as well as services provided through WRCNM.

“My professional background is in law enforcement. I was a sheriff’s deputy for sixteen years. In that capacity, I had a number of different roles, including supervisor, special investigator and training coordinator,” Sarah said.

When she left law enforcement, she worked in prevention, which ultimately led her to WRCNM and the CAC. Sarah said the CAC is a needed and instrumental part of giving young survivors a voice. Sarah’s journey of working as a police officer, school assistant, advocate and Forensic Interviewer enables her to bring all of her skill sets into a role that will help serve and support children and further the mission of the CAC.

Amelia McGeorge Family AdvocateAmelia McGeorge
Family Advocate

This summer, Amelia McGeorge joined WRCNM’s staff as a Family Advocate working with children and families through the CAC and also with individuals utilizing WRCNM domestic abuse and sexual assault services.

Amelia previously worked with individuals in the field of substance abuse.

In her role as Family Advocate, Amelia will provide families going through the investigation process with immediate counseling, advocacy, and support that continues during the forensic interview and throughout the healing process. These services include immediate crisis intervention, ongoing case management, court assistance, and follow-up support.

She became interested in working with WRCNM after hearing about the positive experiences of people using the agency’s services and the agency’s overall positive impact on our northern Michigan community.

Amelia looks forward to building connections within the agency and in the community.
