Chefs Across the Great Lakes dinner at Twisted Olive
As part of the Chefs Across the Great Lakes chef exchange, Killarney Mountain Lodge, Georgian Bay, Ontario, will showcase their chefs’ cooking expertise at Twisted Olive, 319 Bay Street, Petoskey, at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 19.
Proceeds from this special dinner event will benefit Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) programs and services to help recognize Domestic Violence Awareness Month, observed in October. WRCNM is a nonprofit organization that provides essential services to women, children and individuals in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties.
The Chefs Across the Great Lakes menu features the talents of both restaurants’ chefs:
• Hors d’oeuvres by Twisted Olive’s Executive Chef Lee Fortune
• First Course: Butternut squash and pumpkin bisque with a maple crème fraiche
• Second Course: Pistachio crusted halibut on green onion vichyssoise
• Third Course: Pomegranate roast duck duo; crispy skinned duck breast and confit leg with a pulse legumes cassoulet, root vegetable tian and a pomegranate duck jus
• Fourth Course: Blueberry lavender white chocolate cheesecake
Kirsten Okeefe, owner of Twisted Olive and Kelly McAree, General Manager of Killarney Mountain Lodge have both expressed delight at being able to share the uniqueness of each establishment, offering dining aficionado guests something original.
“Killarney Mountain Lodge opened their arms to our chef earlier this year to great success,” said Okeefe. “Now, it’s our turn to extend the welcome mat for the enjoyment of our guests.”
“We are delighted to join hands with Twisted Olive in a demonstration of the long-standing friendship between Ontario and Michigan,” said McAree.
