Several community funding partners recently awarded grant dollars to help support Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) programs and services.

Char-Em United Way provided support to the WRCNM’s domestic abuse and sexual assault program and the Children’s Learning Center.

Hestia Women’s Giving Circle provided support to the WRCNM’s educational and employment services program.

Otsego County United Way and Otsego County Community Foundation provided support for WRCNM services available in Otsego County, such as domestic abuse and sexual assault survivor services.

Fifth Third Bank provided sponsorship support to the WRCNM’s Women Can/Women Do fundraising luncheons held in Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Emmet counties.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Blue Care Network of Michigan provided sponsorship support to the WRCNM’s Women Can/Women Do fundraising luncheons held in Charlevoix, Cheboygan and Emmet counties.

These dollars are critical in helping ensure the continuation of WRCNM services such as domestic abuse, sexual assault, child abuse and child sexual assault/abuse, counseling, playgroups, childcare, preschool and educational and employment services. In addition to direct services, the organization provides a 24-hour crisis and information line, domestic abuse shelter and free community playgroups for parents and caregivers of young children.

The WRCNM, established in 1977, has grown over the years in response to community need and currently provides services in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. Survivor services are confidential and provided at no charge.
