The Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) received a $330 donation from members of the McLean and Eakin Cottage Book Club. The contribution will be directed to scholarships provided to those utilizing the WRCNM’s Educational and Employment Services (EES). During the past year, the program provided 317 individuals with academic advising, $55,000 in educational scholarships, job search assistance, career guidance, ‘working wardrobe’ clothing and vouchers for clothing.
Book club members meet at 10 a.m. on the first and third Wednesdays of every month at McLean and Eakin Booksellers in Petoskey. Members decided at a recent meeting to support the EES scholarship fund through voluntary donations. The Cottage Book Club meets year around and is open to those interested in joining the group for a day or a season. Book selections for the group are posted online at mcleanandeakin.com/cottage-book-club.
The Women’s Resource Center’s EES office is located on the campus of North Central Michigan College and can be reached at (231) 348-6699.
