FUNdraiser supports Women’s Resource Center services

St Patricks Day Fundraiser WEB MODULE 2017

Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) celebrates St. Patrick’s Day early during their annual spring FUNdraiser. The event raises needed dollars for WRCNM programs and services relied on by thousands of individuals in northern Michigan each year. This year’s event will take place at the Sagamore Room at The Inn at Bay Harbor from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m., Wednesday March 15.

A variety of unique items donated by area businesses and individuals will be featured in the silent and the live auctions. Ticket holders may bid on items such as a sailboat outing on Little Traverse Bay for four people aboard the Ensign named “Brilliant” with Captain Jan at the helm; four tickets to the 9/16/17 U of M versus Air Force football game and a “Blue” Lot parking pass right next to the stadium; 14kt white-gold necklace with diamond and pink, blue and yellow Tourmaline pendant; afternoon European cooking lessons for up to four people at the Lake Charlevoix home of Chef Rafina Grove; as well as original artwork, jewelry, fitness certificates, custom sweets and more.

“The Women’s Resource Center has been providing essential services for women, children and individuals for 40 years, the sheer number of people who have been touched by this agency is simply amazing,” said Gail Kloss, WRCNM executive director. “We are fortunate that people and businesses in the area support our efforts to provide quality programs and services for people facing life challenges and crisis situations.”

Dollars raised at the St. Patrick’s themed FUNdraiser will help support services such as the WRCNM’s 24-hour crisis and information line, operating costs at the Safe Home, counseling and advocacy for survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, as well as children’s educational programming and scholarships. WRCNM’s survivor services are provided at no charge.

WRCNM’s FUNdraiser will also feature an array of appetizers and a cash bar. Tickets are $10 per person in advance or $15 at the door. Advance tickets may be purchased by calling the WRCNM main office at (231) 347-0067. A list of auction items will be available on the organization’s website at wrcnm.org.
