During the month of May we celebrate mothers. While doing so, thousands of mothers and mothers-to-be across the country will spend Mother’s Day in a domestic abuse shelter, such as the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan’s (WRCNM) Safe Home.

In addition to a safe place to sleep at night, survivors who are mothers have a number of other child-related concerns such as children’s counseling, safety planning, childcare and schooling.

This May 9, we invite you to help us recognize mothers and women role models in your life while also recognizing the strength, determination and love that domestic abuse survivor moms have for their children.

When you make a donation to WRCNM in honor of a mother or a special woman in your life, they will receive a letter letting them know of your honorary donation. It will also let them know the donation helps women and their family members who reach out for WRCNM support, counseling and advocacy services on their healing journey.

A gift of $50 will help provide a week of meals, personal care items safe housing, counseling and support at the Safe Home.
