Leave a lasting impact through planned giving

Denise Simon and Hugh Melling have long supported the work and mission of Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) through financial contributions, Women Can/Women Do events and the 100 Men Campaign. In addition to this ongoing, consistent support, they have chosen to honor WRCNM through planned giving.

“Northern Michigan is fortunate to have the Women’s Resource Center serving the community in so many ways – domestic abuse counseling, of course, but also through child care, education and outreach to men. We have been honored to be able to support this important work through attendance at the Women Can/Women Do luncheons, membership in the 100 Men Campaign and general contributions. We’ve recently added the WRCNM as a beneficiary in our will, so our support will carry on after we are gone!”

Donations in the form of a planned gift allow the agency to meet the needs of adult and child survivors of abuse and assault and families in crisis. It ensures that WRCNM has the financial support to innovate, grow and lead for years to come, and lessens reliance on public funding sources that fluctuate. Essentially, it creates lasting positive change.

Planned gifts help the agency continue to provide critical and specialized services for generations to come; to give voice to those silenced by some of life’s greatest challenges.

Planned gifts through estate plans or other assets allow you to give without affecting your current financial situation. Some ways to give include:

  • Bequest
  • Securities
  • Personal property
  • Real estate

Certain types of planned gifts may reduce or eliminate taxes. For specific advice about your financial situation, please consult a qualified professional advisor. For more information, contact the WRCNM Development Director at (231) 347-0067.
