Petoskey High School English Department volunteers will continue a holiday tradition of creating custom poetry for a donation at McLean and Eakin Booksellers during the Holiday Open House, Friday, December 7.
McLean and Eakin Booksellers hosts ‘The Giving Tree’ this holiday to support families staying at the Safe Home. The Giving Tree is decorated with ornaments representing the ages of children at the Safe Home, the domestic abuse shelter serving families in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. Shoppers may select an ornament on the tree which will help guide them in their purchase of an age-appropriate book or gift to donate and place under the tree. Also during Petoskey’s Holiday Open House on December 7, teachers from Petoskey High School English Department will write customized poetry for a donation from the store’s front window with funds donated to Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan. McLean and Eakin Booksellers is at 307 East Lake Street, Petoskey. For more information, visit wrcnm.org and click on the events calendar.
