Oleson’s Food Stores in Petoskey and Charlevoix are holding a ‘Dollar Drive’ fundraiser for the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan’s (WRCNM) Safe Home, November 12-23. The Safe Home provides 24/7 emergency shelter, meals and support services to domestic abuse survivors and their children in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties at no cost.

“Oleson’s has been a dedicated community partner over the years,” said Jamie Winters, WRCNM Safe Home Coordinator. “Dollar Drive donations help make a difference in the lives of the many families utilizing Safe Home services by raising funds to buy much needed perishable items used on a daily basis, such as milk, bread and eggs.” Winters explained that during the past fiscal year, the Safe Home provided survivors and their children 3,000 nights of refuge, 9,000 meals and all daily needs at no cost.

The Dollar Drive will take place at Oleson’s Food Stores at 2000 US-31 North, Petoskey, and 112 Antrim Street, Charlevoix. For more information or to download the Safe Home Needs List, visit wrcnm.org or call (231)347-1572.
