Oleson’s Dollar Drive supports Safe Home

Olesons Dollar Drive 3

Oleson’s Food Stores in Petoskey and Charlevoix are holding a ‘Dollar Drive’ fundraiser for the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan’s (WRCNM) Safe Home, November 15-26.  During the drive, shoppers are invited to donate a dollar at checkout to support Safe Home needs.  The Oleson Foundation, a foundation designed to continually perform good works in Northwestern Lower Michigan, will match the first $1,000 in donations.

The Safe Home provides 24/7 shelter, meals and support services at no cost to survivors of domestic abuse and their family members in Emmet, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Otsego and Antrim counties.

WRCNM Safe Home Coordinator, Jamie Winters said of the Dollar Drive, “We appreciate the generous support of our community, as well as from Oleson’s management and staff who agreed to host the drive while working tirelessly during the ongoing pandemic.”  Winters said the funds raised help the agency buy perishable items used at the Safe Home on a daily basis, such as milk, bread and eggs.

The Dollar Drive will take place at Oleson’s Food Stores at 2000 US-31 North in Petoskey, and 112 Antrim Street in Charlevoix.  To learn more about Safe Home services and current needs, visit wrcnm.org or call (231)347-0082.
