Project FREE students celebrate accomplishments

Trista Cady, Project FREE associate teacher shares a story about starting kindergarten with students graduating from the preschool program.

Project FREE preschool hosted a celebration for enrolled students to mark the end of the school year and their advancement into kindergarten. During the celebration, students sang, received diplomas, posed for photographs, watched a photo slide show of their preschool year and shared snacks and time with their families.

Project FREE preschool is a Great Start Readiness Program for four year olds operated by the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM). Project FREE helps students build social and academic skills through a variety of activities and educational programming to ensure a smooth transition into kindergarten and elementary school. Staff members are trained in the field of early childhood education. Project FREE offers full-day classes, Monday through Thursday from October through May.
