Kim McQuistion, Child Advocate with the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM), is pictured with a substantial donation of toys from a recent Red Hat Society weekend event held in Mackinaw City. Red Hatters who travelled from across the U.S. to participate in the activity-filled event were encouraged to bring a toy to donate to the WRCNM, a non-profit agency that provides support services to women, children and families in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. The agency plans to share the toys with children of domestic abuse survivors that seek support, advocacy and counseling services at the WRCNM and shelter at the agency’s Safe Home. The Red Hat event was organized by Sarah Grant, Assistant Manager of Mackinaw Crossings in Mackinaw City.
