The Bank of Northern Michigan (TBONM) provided a donation of $1,095 to the Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) to help support the agency’s programs for women, children and families. The donation is a result of an employee giving program that was matched dollar for dollar by the bank. Every year bank employees are asked to suggest local non-profit organizations to consider for the philanthropic program; an employee vote determines the top five to be funded.

TBONM Senior Vice President of Deposit Services, Kathy Erber, said bank employees were impressed with the variety of WRCNM services provided and the number of people who rely on those services in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties. The WRCNM provides services for domestic abuse and sexual assault, child abuse, child sexual assault and abuse, counseling, employment and education, childcare and preschool, free community playgroups and violence prevention. The agency also operates the Safe Home for survivors of domestic abuse, a 24-hour crisis and information line and two Gold Mine Resale Shops that help raise funds for WRCNM programs and services.

The Bank of Northern Michigan offices are located in Emmet, Charlevoix and Grand Traverse counties.
