Andrea Telek Koch has joined Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan as Assistant Director.  She comes on board with the nonprofit agency as Deb Smith, who previously held this position, retires after 41 years of dedicated service.

As Assistant Director, Koch will focus on human resources, benefits, training and legal/regulatory compliance.  She will work collaboratively with others on the agency’s leadership team to develop and advance policies and long-range strategies to strengthen the long-term success of the agency.

For the past 15 years, Koch owned and operated a successful consulting business providing training, instructional design and organizational development.  Her experience includes a career in the service, restaurant and hospitality industry, celebrated successes in consultative sales, training as a talent analyst, recognition as a national training/instructional design consultant and more than a dozen years working with companies to ensure they reach performance objectives which had previously been unobtainable.  Koch is also an artist, author, poet and radio contributor.

Koch said she looks forward to the opportunity to be part of an organization that cares deeply for others and to utilize her experience and skills to make a meaningful difference. She appreciates Smith’s integral contributions in the role, her assistance in the transition, and the warm welcome from the team. Koch is excited to get to know the WRCNM staff, board members, and donors, and further explore this beautiful community.
