Planning is underway for the Women Can/Women Do-Emmet County fundraising luncheon to be held at Bay Harbor Yacht Club-Lange Center from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, September 21.

The first Women Can/Women Do fundraiser took place in 2001, making it one of the longest running annual nonprofit fundraisers in the area.  The event helps fund vital Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) programs and services provided to women, children and families in Antrim, Charlevoix, Cheboygan, Emmet and Otsego counties.

“Women Can/Women Do luncheons provide a significant source of funding that helps ensure the continuation of support services for adult and child survivors of abuse and assault,” said Gail Kloss, WRCNM Executive Director. WRCNM survivor services include advocacy, counseling, the Safe Home, 24-hour help line, Children’s Advocacy Center and Educational and Employment Services.

WRCNM Development Director, Kari VandenBrink said the Bay Harbor Yacht Club is a good fit for the event,  “The Emmet County fundraiser in September features dozens of designers from around the area, an extensive silent auction and a delicious lunch enjoyed by hundreds of guests.  We look forward to returning to the Bay Harbor Yacht Club-Lange Center for this well-attended event.”
