Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) received an $8,260 grant from the Community Fund, Youth Fund, Amar-Fox Family Fund and Patrick J. McNamara Fund of the Otsego Community Foundation (OCF).
The grant supports WRCNM services for Otsego County adult and child survivors of domestic abuse and sexual assault, and services provided through the Children’s Advocacy Center. The funds will be used to provide survivors with counseling, advocacy, support and ongoing services to help them overcome trauma and move forward on their healing journey. During the past fiscal year, 143 Otsego County adult and child survivors utilized WRCNM counseling, advocacy and support services.
“WRCNM Therapists, Counselor/Advocates and staff have assisted Otsego County residents for many years as one of the five northern Michigan counties we serve,” said Gail Kloss WRCNM Executive Director. “We are grateful for this funding opportunity because it will help us continue to provide these life-changing services.”
The Community Grant Program is a collaborative effort made possible by the funding partners. This unique program administered by OCF allows nonprofits to complete one grant application which is reviewed and considered by all funding partners. The funding partners granted more than $125,958 to meet needs and advance opportunities in the community.
