During National Volunteer Appreciation Week, April 15-21, Women’s Resource Center of Northern Michigan (WRCNM) celebrates the dedicated and remarkable people who volunteer with our organization.

A small group of determined volunteers started WRCNM more than 40 years ago. Today, volunteers remain a valuable resource through their gifts of time, talent and generosity.

This past year, volunteers donated more than 4,550 hours to our organization accomplishing a variety of tasks, such as serving on our Board of Directors, providing information and support to callers on our crisis line, assisting Gold Mine Resale Shop customers, helping to prepare mailings, lending a hand to keep up our facilities, encouraging and supporting survivors of domestic abuse at the Safe Home, serving on fundraising committees and inspiring social change work in our community.

Volunteers are the very essence of this organization through their selflessness and caring. Lives are changed, dreams are achieved and our community is improved through the work done by WRCNM volunteers.
