We are grateful for the recent community support for vital WRCNM programs.  Together, we are creating safe and thriving communities.

• Cheboygan County Community Foundation provided a $4,000 grant for WRCNM Educational and Employment Services (EES) to support scholarships for eligible Cheboygan County individuals who are pursuing a college degree or occupational training at North Central Michigan College.
• Women Who Care in the Tip of the Mitt donated $10,000 to help fund new and improved retaining walls to ensure greater safety around the Children’s Learning Center playground perimeter and main office parking areas.
• Michigan Department of Education’s Fall 2021 Child Care Relief Fund awarded a $56,545 Child Care Sustainability Grant to the Children’s Learning Center (CLC). The funding is for child care providers to help stabilize operations, support the health and safety of children/staff and focus on what matters most — supporting children and families.
• Charlevoix County Community Foundation’s Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) awarded a $13,000 grant to support child and youth survivors participating in the Children’s Advocacy Center. YAC is composed of Charlevoix County youth who are selected to be members; together they oversee grantmaking to causes that serve area youth.
• Cheboygan County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office employees held ‘dress down’ days on Fridays during October in honor of Domestic Abuse Awareness Month. The dollars they raised support WRCNM survivor services through their Neighborhood Fund.
• Emmet County Democrats donated 15 complete turkey dinner baskets for individuals and families utilizing WRCNM services.
• Rotary Club of Petoskey Sunrise provided $1,250 to support WRCNM services and donated four venison dinners to the Safe Home.
• Girl Scout Troop 7573 in Petoskey donated nonperishables and hand-tied blankets for survivors utilizing Safe Home services.
• Petoskey Middle School Student Council donated hundreds of food and supply items from an in-school donation drive and $1,712.48 from a “penny wars” fundraiser to support Safe Home needs.
• McLean and Eakin Booksellers in Petoskey hosted the Giving Tree benefit to provide books for children at the Safe Home.
• Between the Covers bookstore in Harbor Springs provided a $1,000 matching donation on Giving Tuesday.
• UAW Local 1403 based in Boyne City donated $500 to support WRCNM programs and services.
• Ward and Eis Gallery hosted their annual ‘Gifts Twice Given’ benefit on two Saturday’s in December with 20% of all sales donated to WRCNM.
• Grain Train Natural Foods Market in Petoskey donated ten $100 gift certificates to WRCNM’s Holiday Family Giving Program and hosted the Giving Tree encouraging community members to donate gift cards for toys, books, groceries, gas and more.
• Newton’s Road Northwest, a Traverse City nonprofit donated fifteen STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Technology Kits to WRCNM.

Harvest Food and Supply Drive and Holiday Family Giving Program

We thank community members and groups who made the holidays brighter for local people and families with donations to WRCNM’s Holiday Family Giving Program.

Your donations of grocery/supermarket gift cards, financial contributions and donations of food and supplies makes a positive difference in the lives of women and children experiencing some of life’s greatest challenges.
